The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) 27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor indicated above has submitted a BCP application for investigation of the site indicated above.

Please note the application package includes the Draft Remedial Investigation Work Plan which describes the remedial activities to be conducted to investigate and determine the nature and extent of the contamination related to the site.

NYSDEC will review the application package and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the application.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft EIS And Public Hearing

Onondaga County - The Planning Board of the Town of LaFayette, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Preliminary Plan, The Grove Subdivision. A public hearing will be held on April 19, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall of the Town of LaFayette at 2577 Route 11, LaFayette, NY. Comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted by the contact person until the end of business April 29, 2005. The action involves the subdivision and development of 38 acres of Agricultural-Residential (A-R) zoned land into 8 new building lots to allow construction of single family detached homes with two large residential lots designated as "non-buildable". The project is located at 4065 Route 91 approximately 1/4 miles south of the Route 91 and Route 173 intersection on the west side of Route 91 in the Town of LaFayette.
