Project Description: This unit management plan provides management guidelines and actions which include the following: the proposed construction of horse trails, the proposed construction of loop hiking/ski trails, (all except for one will be upgrades from existing herd paths), improving four of the existing campsites on Thirteenth Lake to make them universally accessible and the closure of two of the remaining primitive tent sites, development of an accessible day use picnic area, also in the Thirteenth Lake area, and the creation of an administrative camping area on the shore of Indian Lake.

Essex County - The Town of Westport, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Westport Water District 1N improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves replacement and upgrade of existing water lines. The project is located in the Hamlet of Westport in Town of Westport.

Positive Declaration And Public Scoping

Saratoga County - The Town of Malta Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Malta Future Growth Analysis & Generic Environmental Impact Statement may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session was held on March 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 2540 Route 9, Malta, NY. The action involves the evaluation of future potential cumulative impacts of development for a 10-Year Preferred Growth Scenario. The study area encompasses the entire town, which includes approximately 17,000 acres of land consisting of a mixture of residential, commercial, vacant/natural, recreational, and future industrial land.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Final EIS

Essex County - The Town of Wilmington, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Wilmington Water District 1 and Water District 2 Water Supply System Improvements. The action involves the replacement of 17,000 LF of water transmission main , new pump station on Quaker Mountain Road in Water District 1 and the formation of Water District 2 to serve Whiteface Mountain Ski Area through the construction of a new 330,000 gallon water storage tank, booster pump station, and 10,000 LF of water transmission main on New York State Forest Preserve land designated for intensive use, and along NYS Route 86 ROW from Fox Farm Road to the ski area. The project is located in Water District 1 Haselton Rd., Bonnieview Rd., Route 86, Quaker Mountain Rd., Manning Rd.; Water District 2 NYS Route 86, all within the Town of Wilmington.
