The Department has made
a tentative determination to issue a new SPDES permit for a
proposed new discharge of approximately 690 gallons per minute of noncontact cooling
water, at a maximum temperature of 90 degrees Fahrenheit, to the Genesee River, from
geothermal heat pumps which will be used for heating and cooling of the Corn Hill
Landing facility, consisting of 127 apartments and condos. A Protection of Waters permit
will be required for the intake and outfall structures. The file is available for review and
comment at the NYSDEC Region 8 office.

repair/rehabilitate approximately 7800 L.F. of low-level,
compacted, earthen fill dike at the Vanderbilt Marsh Club property in the towns of
Savannah and Galen, Wayne County. The project will provide enhanced water level
management capabilities in the club's Sink Hole Marsh complex. Approximately 7600
c.y. of fill will be required. The project site is within NYS regulated wetland SA-21,
between Hogback Rd. and Grey Rd., south of State Rt. 31.

The applicant proposes to renew and modify
the current Mined-land Reclamation permit
at the Eskilden sand and gravel mine. The modification would transfer the current
permit from SLC Constructors Inc. to Tri-C Inc. The mine operation will continue as a
traditional surface excavation of glacial outwash deposits, which are the predominate
soil types on the site. Excavation will be by mechanical equipment, standard for sand
and gravel mining operations. Processing will be limited to screening and will not
exceed 150 tons per hour. Final reclamation will restore the site to graded, stabilized
and re-vegetated open land. The mine site is located between Downey Road and Long
Point Cove Road north of the Long Point Salvation Army Camp.
