Negative Declaration

Tioga County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Martin VanEtten’s proposed sand & gravel mine will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the applicant proposing to mine sand and gravel from 6.6 acres on a 20.3 acre site. The proposal includes the use of a screen and a crusher. Hours of operation have been proposed as 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (or sunrise to sunset whichever is more restrictive) There will be no mining on Sundays or legal holidays. All mining to be above the groundwater table. The proposed mine is located on the south side of NYS Route 96 approximately 0.1 mile east of the intersection with Tuttle Hill Road and 0.6 mile west of the Village of Candor, Tioga County.
