Project Description:
The applicant has enrolled in the Wetlands Reserve Program, through which the Saratoga County Natural Resource Conservation Services has developed a proposal to enhance an existing wetland area within the NYS DEC regulated FWW M-17 (Class 2). The wetland habitat modifications will be accomplished by construction of a low berm to flood an area enhanced by the construction of a shallow pond. Excavated spoil will be used to construct the low berm and the excess will be removed and spread in upland area. The created area of open water interspersed with wetland emergent vegetation will benefit waterfowl, fur-bearers and other wildlife. Application materials are available for public review and comment at the NYS DEC Regional Sub-Office in Warrensburg.
