The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a permit for a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation law. The applicant proposes to discharge backwash from an iron/manganesse removal filtration system to groundwater.  The system is associated witha public supply wells located at the Nichols Road Wellfield , Islandia, Town of Islip.

This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is considered to satisfy regulator standards for permit issuance based on information available to the Department at this time.  As a tentative determination, The Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.  As such, this tentative determination does not signify department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project.  Refer to this application by application number listed above and SPDES number NY 026 7058.  A copy of the application and draft permit are available at the Region I Stony Brook Office.

The Department has prepared a Draft Permit and has made a tentative determination to approve this application for an Air State Facility permit pursuant to Article 19 (Air Pollution Control) of the Environmental Conservation Law (ECL).  The applicant proposes to operate a diesel fired internal combustion engine used to power a portable rock crusher, with three deck horizontal screening plant, and a 175 KWH generator set. Sulphur dioxide emissions will be monitored through record keeping and maintenance practices. The facility is located  at 56 Comsewogue Road, East Setauket, Suffolk County.

The applicant proposes to reconstruct a bulkhead within 18" of the existing bulkhead, dredge a 20' by 50' area of the Great South Bay seaward of the bullkhead and reconstruct an existing deck. The total amount of material to be dredged is estimated to be 40 cubic yards.  The area proposed to be dredged is designated as NYSDEC regulated tidal wetlands.  The project is located at 36 Baview Walk, Cherry Grove, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.  SCTM # 200986.262.

Applicant proposes to demolish an existing dwelling and construct a new single family dwelling and sanitary system located in the adjacent area of Fresh water wetland B-3. The property is located on 195 Lake Shore Drive, E. Patchogue, Town of Brookhaven (SCTM# 0200-975.5-7-3)   

The Department has prepared a Draft Permit and has made a tentative determination to approve this application for an Air State Facility permit pursuant to Article 19 (Air Pollution Control) of the Environmental Conservation Law (ECL).  The facility operates four main boilers, eleven stationary back-up generators and two portable backup generators.  The facility has agreed to accept permit conditions that will limit facility wide emissions of oxides of nitrogen at 22.5 tons per year.  By accepting these state and federally enforceable limits the facility will not be subject to the provisions of the Title V operating permit program.  Sulphur dioxide and oxides of nitrogen emissions will be determined through annual compliance statements.  Emissions will be monitored and controlled through record keeping and maintenance procedures.  The facility is located at 79 Middleville Road, Northport, Suffolk County.

Applicant proposes to construct an 18 hole golf course (Olde Vine Golf Club) on approx. 100 acres, re-activate an existing 600 gpm irrigation well and install one new 10" diameter  irrigation well to a depth of 230 feet with the capacity to pump 800 gallons per minute.  The project also proposes the creation of 5 ponds with a total surface area of 3 acres and the construction of seventy-five (75) single family residences.  The property is located on the south side of Reeves Avenue, 1,100' east of Ranoke Avenue, Riverhead.
