Genesee County has a water
supply permit to take an average 6,000,000 gpd and a
maximum 9,000,000 gpd from the Monroe County Water Authority’s Lake Ontario
source and an average 700,000 gpd and maximum 1,400,000 gpd from the Erie County
Water Authority’s Lake Erie and Niagara River sources and an average 3,000,000 gpd
and maximum 6,000,000 gpd from the Genesee County Tonawanda Creek/Batavia
aquifer source for use within Genesee County. This permit includes the installation of 34
miles of water main and appurtenances to serve the Towns of Leroy, Stafford, Pembroke,
Byron, Bergen, Darien, and Pavilion and the Village of Bergen, the Village of Corfu, and
the Village of Leroy, and properties abutting watermain to supply the Village and Town
of Oakfield. Genesee County proposes to modify this permit to replace the existing water
supply sources of the Village of LeRoy and the Town of Pavilion with Monroe County
Water Authority sources and to eliminate the Village of LeRoy's Silver Lake and Lake
LaGrange sources. This project includes a new booster station on South Street Road and
pump upgrades at two existing booster stations; no new water lines were installed for this

The Bristol Mountain Water
Works Corporation proposes to take a supply of water for
use in the existing North Star Village distribution system by the construction of two wells
each having an installed pump capacity of 50 gallons per minute. The project also
includes the construction of a water treatment facility, a 100,000 gallon water storage
tank, and 5,000 feet of water main. The existing North Star Village well will be
abandoned. The allocation for the existing 19 condominium units is 5,700 gallons per
day. The wells will also provide potable water to the Bristol Mountain Ski Resort non-community
water supply for a total maximum of 50,000 gallons per day. The file is
available for review and comment at NYSDEC Region 8.

With the oversight of the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the applicant proposes to
construct a 6 foot by 242 foot impoundment across a farm drainage ditch to provide a
small shallow water wetland for wildlife. The applicant plans to use an in-line water
control structure to manage the water level. Approximately 6.5 acres will be affected
within and adjacent to Freshwater Wetland SA-15. the project is located 0.3 miles north
of Messner Road and 0.50 miles west of State Route 89 in the Town of Savannah in
Wayne County.
