ENB Region 1 Completed Applications 12/29/2004

The applicant proposes a modification of their existing permit for the discharge of 8000 GPD of process wastewaters to groundwater to increase this discharge to 14000 GPD as well as minor modifications to outfall designations and discharge pH limits. The facility is located at 500 West Sunrise Highway, Patchogue, Brookhaven Town, Suffolk County. The proposed discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source aquifer and the following water purveyors have been identified as having service areas located within a 3 mile radius of the applicant's facility: Suffolk County Water Authority. The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit modification under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation Law. This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is considered to satisfy regulatory standards for permit issuance, based on information available to the Department at this time. As a tentative determination, the Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit modification issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify Department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit modification is sought or for the overall proposed project. The applicant proposes to increase the allowable annual pumpage of their existing irrigation well from 10 million to 15 million gallons in order to irrigate the additional 25 acres added  to this 15 acre nursery. This facility is located at 445 Horseblock Road, SCTM#200-846-3-2,3,4, Yaphank, Brookhaven Town, Suffolk County.  

The applicant proposes to elevate a single family dwelling, set on pilings, and reconstruct the existing decks and walkways.  The entire parcel is located in NYSDEC regulated freshwater wetland #BE19.  The project is located at:  211 Marine Walk, Saltaire, Town of Islip, Suffolk County.  SCTM # 5032226.
