ENB Region 6 Completed Applications 12/22/2004

    The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application to re-issue/re-new  the following pre-existing EPA minor Private/Commercial/Institutional State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (P/C/I SPDES) permit.  DEC has made a tentative determination to re-issue/re-new this permit for a standard ten year term maintaining current effluent limitations and monitoring and reporting requirements.  This permit involves the subsurface discharge of up to 600 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste.  Nearest waterbody:  Fulton Chain of lakes-- 325 feet.

    Additional information on this permit may be requested from or inspected at the NYSDEC Central Office in Albany.  Substantive comments must be submitted in writing to the contact person.

The applicant proposes to replace the existing Rondaxe Lake timber dam.The new dam would be constructed of steel sheet piling and stone. A flow control structure has been incorporate into the design in order to regulate lake water levels in the fall. The dam is only five feet high and it has been determined that a dam safety permit will not be required for the replacement.

The applicant proposes to construct an indoor soccer facility in the vicinity of Freshwater Wetland CL-11, a class 4 wetland. The facility will impact 9,000 square feet of wetland and 40,000 square feet of regulated adjacent area. A 9,000 square foot pond will be constructed as mitigation as well as a nature trail.

The applicant proposes to restore approximately 230' of eroded lawn area with gravel, topsoil and grass seed and dredge 1'-3' of sediments from an existing boat basin approximately 190' long x 50' wide.  The site is immediately west of CR 3 on Chippewa Creek, 2.5 miles north of the Village of Hammond.  The site is adjacent to regulated freshwater wetland HA-1, a 188 acre Class I emergent marsh.
