Project Title: New York State Department of Transportation
Location: At the intersection of the access road to Gore Mountain Ski Center and Peaceable Valley Road. Town of Johnsburg, Warren County.

Project Description: The project involves the construction of a NYS DOT salt storage facility/reload site and a two-lot subdivision creating a 2.1± acre lot and the remaining lands. NYS DOT will construct a 26 ft. by 40 ft. by 18 ft. tall salt storage structure and a 16 foot by 20 foot storage structure on the site. Approximately 150 tons of salt will be stored at the site and used to maintain state highways in the vicinity of the project site during winter months. Approximately 2.1± acres will be transferred from the NYS DOT land bank to NYS DEC to mitigate the use of Forest Preserve lands for the reload site. NYS DOT has concurrently applied to the Agency for a reclassification of the 2.1± acre site on State lands from Intensive Use to State Administrative.
