Project Description:
The Village of Hobart proposes to increase the permitted flow to the Village Wastewater Treatment Plant(WWTP) from 160,000 Gallons per day to 180,000 Gallons per day.  A Capacity Evaluation for the Village of Hobart WWTP has been conducted confirming that the plant is capable of handling and treating the increase flow. Cannonsville Reservoir, to which this facility is tributary, is subject to a Total Maximum Daily Load for phosphorus. The phosphorus TMDL for the Cannonsville Reservoir allocates .8 pounds per day to the Hobart WWTP. The discharge permitted under the modified SPDES permit will remain in compliance with this allocation.
A Draft Permit is on file and is available from the NYSDEC contact person.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
A cultural resources survey has been completed. Based on information provided in the survey report, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have no impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
