Project Title: Saratoga County Communication Towers Project

Project Description: The project is a major public utility use involving the construction of three emergency communications towers over 40 feet in height and related infrastructure at three separate locations in the towns of Hadley, Day and Edinburg, Saratoga County. The project is that part of Saratoga County's proposed emergency communications system in the Adirondack Park. The three sites are Mount Anthony, Lakeview and Fraker Mountain. The project also involves subdivisions of property at each site.
The proposed development at the Mount Anthony site includes a 6,000± ft. access road leading to a 100 ft. x 125 ft. tower area. Within the tower area, a 50 ft. x 70 ft. fenced compound will contain a 67 ft. 7 in. tall tower (mono pole or free standing triangular metal tower), a 10 ft. x 20 ft. communications shelter, an ice bridge, a propane tank and a generator. The tower will have two 6 ft. diameter microwave dishes and three 12± ft. long whip antennas mounted near the top of the tower for an overall tower/antenna height of 76 feet 9 inches.
The proposed development at the Lakeview site includes a 1,200± ft. access road leading to a 100 ft. x 125 ft. tower area. Within the tower area, a 50 ft. x 70 ft. fenced compound will contain an 87 ft. 4 in. tall tower (mono pole or free standing triangular metal tower), a 10 ft. x 20 ft. communications shelter, an ice bridge, a propane tank and a generator. The tower will have two 6 ft. diameter microwave dishes and three 12± ft. long whip antennas mounted near the top of the tower for an overall tower/antenna height of 96 feet 5 inches.
The proposed development at the Fraker Mountain site includes a 4,900± ft. access road (about 3,000± feet existing and 1,900 feet proposed) leading to a 100 ft. x 100 ft. tower area. Within the tower area, a 50 ft. x 70 ft. fenced compound will contain a 88 ft. 3 in. tall tower (mono pole or free standing triangular metal tower), a 10 ft. x 20 ft. communications shelter, an ice bridge, a propane tank and a generator. The tower will have one 6 ft. diameter microwave dish and three 12± ft. long whip antennas mounted near the top of the tower for an overall tower/antenna height of 97 feet 5 inches.

Project Description: The action involves construction of a new 50 foot by 130 foot service building to provide maintenance services for boats associated with two existing marinas which were both previously expanded by greater than 25% of their 1973 size pursuant to previous Agency permits (Permits 87-416 and 87-416A - Snug Harbour Marina and Permits 94-379 and 94-379A - Olde Valcour Marina). The service building is to operate year-round.
