ENB Region 9 Completed Applications 12/01/2004

The Town of Boston proposes bank stabilization of Irish Gulf north and adjacent to the Wildwood Drive between Boston State Road Bridge and 6262 Wildwood Drive. The project includes temporary bank stabilization in the Fall of 2004 with placement of heavy stone along eroded streambanks, excavation of 300 feet of stone in the creek bottom, placement of excavated material on top of heavy stone and removal of debris in the stream channel. Permanent bank stabilization in the Spring of 2005 consists of removing temporary heavy stones; placement of gabion baskets along existing bank with insertion of willow tree cuttings into baskets; placement of stone fill at base of gabion baskets with key-in at either end of stabilization; and bendway weirs constructed at four locations along creek bottom, angled and extending to the center of the creek.  A grade control structure will be placed at the downstream end of the project and tied into the southerly bank and stone key-in on the northerly bank. Filled and finished graded areas such as those above the gabions and over stone fill will be vegetated.  

Installation of approximately 320 feet of vegetated rock rip rap erosion protection, for streambank stabilization along the east bank of Cazenovia Creek.
