Project Title: Availability of Voluntary Cleanup Project for Comment
Former Henrietta Wastewater Treatment Plant V00678-8

Project Location: Region 8, 100 Karenlee Drive, Henrietta (T), Monroe (C)

Brief Project Description: The site was operated as a waste water treatment plant (WWTP) from 1995 to 1981. The plant facilities were located on the western portion of the site. The remain eastern portion of the site was extensively filled with dried sewage sludge, gravel, asphalt, soil, and metal debris. From 1981 to 2002, the property was used for operation maintenance and storage area for the Town of Henrietta. Currently, the site is unused and several of the WWTP structures remain.

A Voluntary Cleanup Investigation was completed in June 2004. The results of the investigation did not identify any significant contamination in surface soils or groundwater. Sub-surface soils in the landfill area contain low levels of PCBs, PAHs, and metals including chromium (7.66 ppm to 1140 ppm), cadmium(ND to 81 ppm), selenium (ND to 4.12 ppm) and silver( ND to 190 ppm). The selected remedy for the site includes development of a soils management plan (SMP)and filing a deed restriction. The SMP addresses the proper handling of potentially contaminated soils during any future site developments and the deed restriction limits the property to commercial/industrial usage. A copy of the soils management plan and the deed restrictions are in the Henrietta Public Library for review.
