The Department has made
a tentative determination to approve this application for
modification of an existing SPDES permit for a discharge of up to 2.6 million gallons per
day of treated groundwater into Alley Creek (Class I) from a treatment system consisting
of a settling tank at the site in Alley Pond Park where the applicant is constructing a
Combined Sewage Overflow storage tank and an outfall. The modifications include the
addition of an additional discharge point from an existing storm outfall (TI-655) and
revised monitoring locations to reflect proposed operations. In addition, all other pages
of the permit have been modified to reflect current DEC standards. A draft permit is
available for inspection and comment at the regional office.
