ENB Region 1 Completed Applications 11/03/2004

The Department has drafted a permit pursuant to Article 19 (Air Pollution Control) of the NYS Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) and made a tentative determination to approve this application for the applicant's existing facility.  Key Span hs accepted a limit of 22.5 tpy of Oxides of Nitrogen, NOx.  With this limit the facility will not be subject to the Title V requirements and becomes a Synthetic Minor subject to State Facility Permit requirements.  Record keeping and reporting requirements are contained in the draft permit to verify compliance with the NOx limit.  A copy of the draft permit is available for review at the Region I Stony Brook office.

The applicant proposes to construct facility modifications to an existing liquid waste pre-treatment facility to allow for storage, and additional pre-treatment, of approved liquid wastes including wastewater treatment plant sludges and grease trap cleanout wastes. The proposal includes the installation of dewatering equipment to remove water from sludges and greases.  The resultant water would be treated and discharged to an existing connection to the Suffolk County Sewer District # 3 collection system.  Dewatered sludges and greases would then be loaded to sealed containers and transferred to permitted disposal facilities.  Capacity of the processing facility is proposed to be 250,000 gallons per day.  The project is located on the south side of Route 109, north of the LIRR tracks, east of Albany Ave., west of of Wellwood Ave. in the locality of North Lindenhurst, Town of Babylon.

The applicant proposes to stabilize 180 feet of shoreline by placing 12, 897 square feet of erosion control blankets, 24 cubic yards of river stone and the planting of Spartina alterniflora and Spartina patens.  Placement of the proposed river stones will be seaward of apparent high water to secure the seaward edge of the erosion control blanket.  The project is located on West Meadow Creek at 26 Night Heron Drive, Stony Brook, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.

The applicant proposes to stabilize 180 feet of shoreline by placing approximately 536 cubic yards of fill, 6,335 square feet of erosion control blankets, 40 cubic yards of river stone and the  planting of Spartina alterniflora and Spartina patens.  Placement of the proposed river stones will be seaward of apparent high water to secure the seaward edge of the erosion control blanket.  The project is located on West Meadow Creek at 24 Night Heron Drive, Stony Brook, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.

The applicant proposes to stabilize 180 feet of shoreline by placing approximately 6,777 square feet of erosion control blankets, 27 cubic yards of river stone and the planting of Spartina alterniflora and Spartina patens.  Placement of the proposed river stones will be seaward of apparent high water to secure the seaward edge of the erosion control blanket. The project is located on West Meadow Creek at 22 Night Heron Drive, Stony Brook, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.

Applicant proposes to install approximately 185 linear feet of low sill, vinyl bulkheading at the line of apparent low water along the shoreline of two adjacent lots on James Creek. The work also includes the dredging of a 10' x 90' area seaward of the bulkheading on the eastern lot to       -2 MLW with the placement of the resulting 35 cubic yards of material behind the new bulkhead, and the planting of this area with Spartina alterniflora on 12 inch centers. The site is located at the northeast intersection of Bay Avenue and East Legion Road in Mattituck. SCTM # 1000-122-03-12 & 13.
