The applicant proposes construction
of the Springbrook Shores Subdivision, a 160 unit
residential development, which will include roads, utilities, two ponds and 160 acres of
permanent open space on a 222 acre parcel. The Springbrook Shores Sewage Works
Corporation has been formed to oversee the operation of the wastewater treatment plant
which will be constructed to service discharge from the subdivision to Tributary 11 of
Buffalo Creek. The project is located on the north side of Rice Road adjacent to the
Aurora Expressway (RT 400) and east of Pound Road.

The applicant proposes to
combine two adjacent permitted mining areas into one quarry.
The quarry will be enlarged by approximately 16 acres through the excavation of the
former railroad right-of-way which presently physically separates the two quarries. The
reclamation objective is a reservoir and upland: meadow, forest and roadway. The
applicant also proposes to administratively combine this permit with acreage covered
under MLR File # 90031, property which was owned by Lancaster Stone until its
purchase by Buffalo Crushed Stone in the year 2002. The project is located on property
owned Buffalo Crushed Stone, Inc. within an area generally defined by Harris Hill Road,
Wehrle Drive, Barton Road and the New York State Thruway in the Towns of Clarence
and Lancaster.
