Project Description:
The State of New York proposes to temporarily place clean fill material into state wetland MA-2 for constructing an access road into the existing tire dump at Pinnacle Road. The access will allow the remediation of the site including the operation of portable generators to power tire shredders and the removal of the shredded material off-site. The remediation is estimated to take up to 3 years, at which time the fill material is to be removed and the wetland restored. The application and project plans are available for review in the Syracuse Office.
State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.
SEQR Lead Agency:
NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment:
Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Oct 29 2004.
