The applicant proposes to
cut Phragmites stems close to the ground and then excavate
two parallel 6 inch by 6 inch trenches, parallel to the pond and above the water line to
expose Phragmites rhizomes. Application of a 100% solution of Rodeo will be injected
into the rhizomes every five feet by a certified pesticide applicator. There will be 9
treatment areas in all. The areas will be replanted. Project location is NYSDEC
Freshwater Wetland JA-3 Baisley Pond in Baisley Pond Park, Queens County.
