The Department has made
a tentative determination to approve this application for a
modification of the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit issued
on October 1, 2003 to discharge brine to the groundwater. The modification is to increase
the flow rate from 150 barrels of brine per day (bbl/day) to 250 bbl/day and allow brine
from additional wells to be discharged. The permit would be modified as requested and
in conjunction with a modification to their EPA UIC Permit# NYU119501.
