The applicant proposes to demolish approximately 90 single family cottages and restore the sites to a natural condition.   The area is adjacent to regulated tidal wetlands and some cottages are located directly over tidal wetlands or seaward of apparent high water.  Some vegetation will  be removed or disturbed to facilitate the cottage removals.   The vacant cottage sites are then proposed to be regraded, stabilized and re-vegetated.  The project is located on Trustees Road, Stony Brook, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.   

The applicant proposes to construct a single family dwelling with a pervious stone driveway, an unattached studio and an on-site waste water treatment system.  While the the residence, studio and septic system would be located just outside the adjacent area of the regulated freshwater wetland designated GP-5, grading and clearing associated with construction activities would be undertaken within 100 feet of the freshwater wetland boundary, and therefore within the adjacent area.  A section of the driveway would be located 75 feet from the wetland boundary.
