The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (Department) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program pursuant to ECL 27-1400 et seq. The Brownfield Cleanup Program is designed to encourage the remediation of contaminated properties known as brownfields for reuse and redevelopment. Mr. Herbert Redl has submitted an application to participate in the Brownfield Cleanup Program. The application was determined to be complete by the Department on August 17, 2004. The property described in the application is located at 2 Love Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The application proposes that the applicant will conduct investigation and/or remedial activities at the site. The application proposes that the site will be used for commercial purposes.
The Department will receive public comments concerning the application for thirty days from August 25, 2004 through September 24, 2004. Orange County - The Town Board, Town of Wawayanda, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Land Acquisition/Lands Of Garten will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves an exercise of option agreement for 90 acres and closing of title for general municipal purposes. The project is located Golf Links Road, Town of Wawayanda.

Orange County - The Town of Wallkill Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Golden Triangle. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on September 15, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, Town of Wallkill, 600 NYS Route 211 East, Middletown, New York. Comments are requested and will be accepted by the contact person 10 calendar days following the close of the SEQR hearing. The action involves applications for Subdivision approval to develop a mixed use development on approximately 92 acres of undeveloped land, in accordance with existing zoning, and Site Plan and Special Use Permit approvals to develop 95 town-home residences on approximately 18.9 acres as Phase 1. Future phase(s) would potentially include up to approximately 550,080 sf of a combination of retail, hotel, office, and restaurant uses. Appurtenant parking, infrastructure (municipal water and sewer), stormwater management facilities, wetland mitigation and landscaping would be incorporated into plans for each phase. The project is located south of Silver Lake-Scotchtown Road, west of NYS Route 17, and north of NYS Route 211, in the Town of Wallkill, Orange County, New York; designated as Town of Wallkill Tax Map Nos. 40-1-16; 40-1-35; 41-1-45; and 50-1-62.
