Project Description:
The applicant proposes to construct an in-stream sediment basin of approximately 130 feet long by 40 feet wide for the purposes of intercepting and accumulating the Alden Brook sediment load before it enters Lake George. Every 3 years, or as is otherwise necessary, the basin will be evacuated of captured sediment by means of an excavator which will access the area at a single point on the north side. Application materials are available for public review and comment at the NYS DEC Regional Sub-Office in Warrensburg.
State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to add 17 acres to the Life of Mine (LOM) of the currently permitted 23-acre sand and gravel pit.  Materials will be excavated with a wheel loader or equivalent, and processed on site by  use of a portable screener/crusher.  Mining will occur in eight phases, and the mine reclamation will occur in succession with the completion of the phases. The LOM will maintain a 100 foot vegetated buffer from H-409-8, an unnamed tributary to Mill Creek (Class Ct). Application materials are available for public comment at the NYS DEC Regional Sub-Office in Warrensburg. This application is also under the jurisdiction of the Adirondack Park Agency, Project #2003-83.
