NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT pursuant to Section 816(2) of the Adirondack Park Agency Act, and the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan, the Adirondack Park Agency will hold public hearings regarding the proposed reclassification of land owned by the State of New York in the following manner:

A)    R2004-1 Roger’s Rock Campground
    Essex: Ticonderoga/Warren: Hague
   Area A: Wild Forest to Intensive Use; 155± acres
   Area B: Intensive Use to Wild Forest; 175± acres

B)    R2004-4 Long Lake Water District No. 1
   Hamilton: Long Lake
   Wild Forest to State Administrative; .9± acres

The purpose of the hearings is to afford an opportunity for public comment. Any person may present an oral or written statement in regard to the proposed reclassifications. Written comments will be accepted through August 31, 2004.

Project Title: Town of Fine, Wanakena Sewer District

Location: Wanakena, Town of Fine, St. Lawrence County

Project Description: The project involves the reconstruction of the Wanakena Municipal Wastewater Treatment System. Improvements to the system include a generator, a control panel, a new pump station, valve pit and a new force main under the Oswegatchie River and wetlands associated with Skate Creek. The improvements also involve the construction of a new 10 ft. x 20 ft. control building, a splitter tank with three 5,000 gallon septic tanks, a splitter weir with two 2,500 gallon septic tanks, dosing pumps, a valve pit, four 24 ft. x 84 ft. open sand filters, a recirculation manhole, a new sewer line connecting the sand filters to an ultraviolet disinfection tank, and an outfall pipe that will discharge the treated effluent to Skate Creek.

Project Description: Applicant proposes to install a new Eljen design wastewater treatment system 85.5 feet from the mean high water mark of Peck’s Lake and thus is requesting a variance of 14.5 feet from the 100 foot shoreline setback requirement for new on-site wastewater treatment systems.


Negative Declaration

Saratoga County - The Planning Board of the Town of Malta, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Downs Subdivision will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the zoning of a parcel currently R-5 (minimum of 80,000 sq. ft. zoning). the proposed subdivision has 38 single family lots including two bonus lots making the total, 40 lots on approximately 99 acres. 68.41 acres are developable. 37.80 acres is green space. The 40 lots will go on the remaining 30.61 acres. The project is located at Brownell Road and East Line Road, town of Malta.
