Marbil Corp. (Mario Milano) proposes to mine sand and gravel from 26.5 acres out of a total site of 39± acres. The maximum depth of excavating is 25 feet and the total volume to be excavated over an estimated 15-year period is 425,000 cubic yards. Mining and reclamation would occur in three phases, thus affecting a maximum of 10.5 acres at any given time (Phase I). A dry screen is proposed to be used to screen and sort the minerals.
A combined SEQRA and Department legislative hearing session on the DEIS and the application will be held to receive unsworn statements from the public on September 21, 2004 at 7:00pm. Written comments must be postmarked by October 1, 2004.
