The Applicant proposes to
reconstruct the Hamilton Ave Bridge, Located in the Borough
of Brooklyn, Kings Count, NY. Reconstruction includes the following:
To minimize the possibility
of demolition/construction materials entering the water,
platforms, nets, screens, shields or other approved protective devices will be used in the
project area.The work proposed by the Applicant includes construction work activities
that will affect vehicular and marine traffic. To minimize the impact on traffic only one
span of the bridge will be closed at a time and only during the summer season of July
through Labor Day.

The Department has made
a tentative decision to approve an application to modify their
Title V permit and to approve emission reduction credits (ERCs) for the past reductions
which were the result of the shutdown of Steinway's wood-fired boiler. With this permit
modification the applicant will be establishing emission reduction credits for 0.95 tons
per year of Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) and 0.03 tons per year of Volatile Organic
Compounds ( VOC) in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 231, "New Source Review in
Nonattainment Areas." The application and supporting documentation are available for
review at the NYSDEC Region 2 office.
