Pinelawn Power LLC proposes
to construct and operate a 79.9 MW, dual-fuel electric
generating station. The project entails the construction and operation of a combined cycle
power plant consisting of a General Electric (GE) LM 6000 SPRINT Combustion
Turbine Generator (CTG), a Once Through Steam Generator (OTSG) with supplemental
duct burners, a steam turbine generator (STG), a two-cell wet cooling tower and
associated balance-of-plant systems and facilities.
The
project will be fueled primarily by natural gas with low sulphur (0.05%) kerosene
as a backup fuel. Emissions from the OTSG, CTG, and duct burners will exhaust through a single 145-foot stack. The facility’s peak water supply requirements will be approximately 743,000 gallons per day and will be provided by the Suffolk County Water Authority (SCWA).
The
Applicant has filed individual applications seeking the issuance of (a) a
preconstruction state facility air pollution control permit, (b) a Phase II acid rain permit, and (c) a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit.
The
Department has made a tentative decision to approve the air permit applications,

The applicant proposes to
construct a two-story single family dwelling and deck
approximately 23 ft. from the tidal wetland boundary, pervious driveway, and a sanitary
system with retaining wall approximately 55 ft. from the tidal wetland boundary. The
applicant has requested a variance from the required 75' setback for structures and 100'
setback for the sanitary system. A bulkhead 75 ft. in length is proposed a maximum of 28
ft. seaward of apparent high water. A 48 ft. north return will be constructed and connect
to the sanitary retaining wall. The bulkhead will be backfilled with 800 cubic yards of
fill. The property is located at 27 Tarpon Road, East Quogue, Southampton, County of
Suffolk.
