Suffolk County – The Town of Islip Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Spacely LLC (CZ2004–04) may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves a change of zone for a partially developed 78.83 acre parcel containing the Long Island Business and Technology Center (LITC) from Industrial 2 to Planned Development district (PDD). The proposed action also involves the subdivision of the northern area (41.0 acres) from the southern area (37.8 acres).
The change of zone to PDD – Senior Citizen and PDD – Multi Family on the sothern parcel will allow the construction of a multi–family residential community including 100 senior citizen units, 56 one bedroom apartments, 156 two bedroom apartments and 45 townhouses. The project is located on the southeast corner of Sunrise Highway (Rte 27) and Connetquot Avenue, Great River, Town of Islip.

Suffolk County – The Planning Board of the Town of Babylon, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Deer Park Enterprises (Tanger) Planning Board Job No. 2004–11AFN may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves a retail development on 81 acre Ga Industrial Site which includes demolition of existing structures, approximately 900,000 square feet of proposed building area, 4,723 parking stalls and associated site improvements. The project is located on Commack Road, Deer Park, Town of Babylon.

Suffolk County – The Village of Islandia Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Village of Islandia Comprehensive Plan Update. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on August 11, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Islandia Village Hall, 2200 Old Nichols Road, Islandia, NY. Comments are requested and will be accepted by the contact person until August 27, 2004. The action involves amendments to the Comprehensive Plan which include: updating of inventory information to reflect changes in the Village over the past nine years; reaffirmation of the Greenbelt and Agriculture Land use designations; recommendation to create a new, floating Multi–Family (MF–18) Overlay district; and recommended rezoning of a limited number of properties in the Village. The proposed action covers the entire area in the Village of Islandia.
