The applicant proposes to treat approximately 9 acres of State-designated Freshwater Wetland HJ-13 (Class II) with the aquatic pesticides Aquathol-K (active ingredient: endothall), copper sulfate, and Aquashade.  The treatment site is located at the Chelsea Cove Apartments along the north side of Miller Road, approximately 0.5 mile west of the intersection with Sylvan Lake Road (Dutchess Co. Rte. 10).  The purpose of the treatments is to control nuisance aquatic vegetation (pondweeds and milfoil) and algae.

Applicant proposes to construct a two lot subdivision from a 2.6 acre parcel, located on the north side of Sedgwick Road approximately 2,000 feet east of the intersection with Route 55.  As part of this proposal, the applicant requests a permit to fill and regrade approximately 110 feet by 62 feet in the Adjacent Area of Freshwater Wetland PV-35 (Class II). This will facilitate the development of Lot #1.  State Regulated Freshwater Wetland PV-35 is located on the south side of Sedgwick Road.   

The applicant proposes to remove approximately 3 acres of floating and submerged vegetation from State-designated Freshwater Wetland PK-1 (Class II) located within Lake Celeste.  The project site is generally located on the east side of Albany Post Road, approximately 1-1/2 miles north of the intersection with Old West Point Road.  The vegetation will be removed mechanically with a hydrorake, which will also collect plant roots and small amounts of lake sediment.  The material will be removed from the lake for disposed at an upland site.

The applicant proposes to treat a portion of State-designated Freshwater Wetland No. LE-38 (Class II) contiguous with Evens Lake with copper sulfate to control algae blooms. The treatment site is Evens Lake, which is located generally south of NYS Route 52, approximately 1/2-mile southeast of the intersection with Sullivan County Route 104. The treatment area extends beyond Wetland No. LE-38 into the entire 30-acre lake.

    The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application to re-issue the following EPA minor Private/Commercial/Institutional State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (P/C/I SPDES) permit.  DEC has made a tentative determination to re-issue this permit for a five year term maintaining current effluent limitations and monitoring and reporting requirements.  This permit involves the surface discharge of up to 4,000 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste to the Hifton Brook.

    Additional information on this permit may be requested from or inspected at the NYSDEC Central Office in Albany.  Substantive comments must be submitted in writing to the contact person.
