The applicant proposes to treat less than 10 acres of Ellis pond, portions of which are State-designated Freshwater Wetland Nos. DP-20 and DP-24 (Class II).  The treatment site is generally located along 1,600 linear feet of shoreline adjacent to Camp Ramah, which is located near Ramah and St. George Roads.  The treatments will include the applcation of Aquathol-K (active ingredient: dipotassium salt of endothall) for the control of submerged aquatic vegetation and Glypro (active ingredient: glyphosate) for the control of floating aquatic vegetation.  No treatment is proposed directly within either State-designated wetland.

     The Department has prepared a Draft SPDES Permit (SPDES# NY-0268160) and has made a tentative determination to approve the discharge of up to 34,320 gal. per day of treated sanitary waste into Gidneytown Brook (Class C) in order to serve the proposed 138-unit "Gardner Ridge" residential development for active adults 55 and over.  The proposed residential facility is located on  23.5 acres off Gardener Road near Gidney Avenue and Route 32 in the Town of Newburgh, Orange County New York.

    The applicant has applied for a Part 360 permit to construct and operate a waste oil reprocessing facility to manage up to 14,500 gal. per day and up to 3,370,000 gal. per year of waste oils.  The waste oil would be stored in one 14,000 gal. and in two 30,000 gal. above ground double-walls tanks with associated unloading and loading racks, The waste oils consist of automotive oils (crankcase and gear oils) and tank bottoms & fuel oil contaminated with water, dirt and sediments.  The treatment process would consist of filtering out impurities and storing the waste oil long enough to allow bottom sediment and water to separate from the oils.  All incoming waste oils and the material processed out of it will be shipped offsite for reuse or disposal.  There will be no on-site disposal.

       The facility would be located on approximately 2 acres on the west side of River Road in the Town of the Windsor, Orange County, New York.

The applicant proposes to conduct winter drawdown of Spring Lake (AKA Little Buck Mountain Pond) every other year to control nuisance aquatic vegetation. This drawdown (which would reduce lake size from 15 +/- acres to 10 +/- acres) would affect State-regulated Wetland # LC-4 (Class: 2). The location is on the east side of Gypsy Trail approximately 1/4 mile south of the intersection with North Kent Road.

The applicant proposes to construct approximately 800 linear feet of "catwalk" crossing Freshwater Wetland # HL-50 (Class: 2) to access dockage on Highland Lake. The walkway would be four feet in width with spacing between planks to allow sunlight penetration. The location is on the west side of the Lake east of Hartung Road.

The applicant proposes to build a new laid-up stone wall, along 190 feet of the westbank of the Tributary of Birch Creek Index # H-171-52-2 Class B(t), to prevent erosion.  The project is located 190 feet north of the intersection of NYS Route 28 and Rose Mt. Road.
