Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft EIS And Public Hearing

New York City County - The MTA Capital Construction Company, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Fulton Street Transit Center. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on June 8, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. (informational poster session begins at 4:30 p.m.) at the MTA New York City Transit, 2 Broadway, 20th Floor Conference Room, New York, NY. Those wishing to speak must register before 7:00 p.m. at the meeting location. Written comments may be submitted to Douglas Sussman, Director, MTA Community Affairs, 347 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10017 until June 28, 2004. The action involves improving the connection between subway services at the Fulton Street-Broadway Nassau Station Complex as well as MTA NYC Transit facilities with PATH service and the World Trade Center Site. This project is expected to take approximately 24 months to complete and will include the construction of an entry building located on Broadway between Fulton and John Streets providing access to 12 subway lines. This project will also establish a pedestrian concourse under Dey Street linking the Transit Center with destinations to the west.
