| Project Description: | |
|
Project involves widening
and deepening 500 linear feet of Golf Stream and replace an
existing undersized culvert along Golf Stream at Pearl Stone Drive. Golf Stream is a
Tributary of Irondequoit Creek (DEC Stream ID: O-108-P-113-3-10-1), which has a
Stream Water Quality Classification of Class C. A section of Golf Stream, downstream
from the project area, has a Stream Water Quality Classification of Class B. The project
is located in the northwest portion of the Town Perinton, between Baird Road and Nine
Mile Point Road, directly south of Golf Stream Drive in the Baird Road Estates
Subdivision. Homeowners living adjacent to Golf Stream, on the south side of Golf
Stream Drive, have experience significant flood damage to their properties in recent
years. The purpose of the project is to provide additional flood protection to homeowners
along the south side of Golf Stream Drive by better conveying flow from the Willow
Pond Stormwater Management Facility during 2-, 5-, 10-, 25-, 50- and 100-year storm
events. This project is a portion of a larger, multi-municipal flood control project, which
also includes the deepening and reconfiguring of the Willow Pond Stormwater
Management Facility by the Town of Penfield and the replacement of the Baird Road
culvert for Golf Stream by the Monroe County Department of Transportation.
