|
The applicant proposes to
construct a road extension project. The proposal is to extend
the existing four-lane configuration of Pratt Boulevard west of Glen Cove Avenue and
south of the existing Glen Cove firehouse. The extension is proposed to use the
approximate path of what is now Charles Street and include a 140' elevated section. An
existing weir structure under the elevated section is proposed for complete renovation and
a pedestrian/bike path is proposed to pass along the weir under the elevated section. The
proposed project would encroach on some freshwater wetland adjacent area and some
tidal wetlands and tidal wetlands adjacent area. The applicant proposes as mitigation,
increased stormwater retention and recharge with treatment for grease/oil and sediment;
freshwater wetland plantings and tidal wetland plantings. The project is located on the
south side of Pratt Park, at the terminus of Pratt Boulevard in the City of Glen Cove,
Nassau County.

remove an existing fixed catwalk, ramp and float and install a
4' x 6' platform off the existing bulkhead and a 4' x 14' ramp; relocate 7 existing pilings
and add one new piling; and, dredge a 12' x 24' area at the seaward end of the proposed
dock to a depth of 24" below apparent low water. Resultant 20 cubic yards of dredged
material will be trucked to an approved upland site. The property is located at 16 Little
