The applicant proposes to
remove and replace 58 feet of existing bulkhead in the same
location and 12 inches higher, install 17 feet of new bulkhead across the entrance to the
existing boat slip and fill the slip with 120 cubic yards of clean sand. Dredge a 10 foot by
75 foot area to 4 feet below apparent low water with resultant 20 cubic yards of dredged
material to be used as backfill for the replacement bulkhead. Construct a 4 foot wide
boardwalk landward of the new bulkhead. The project is located at 88 Lighthouse Road,
Babylon, SCTM #102-21-2-46.

The applicant proposes to
improve habitat quality at the headwaters of two of its
freshwater creeks over a four year period by chemically eradicating 8 acres of
Phragmites, and subsequently eliminating dead canes by either prescribed fire in the
winter, mowing, or allowing to decay naturally. This project has been classified as type II
under SEQR as Phragmites eradication has been an on-going agency management
practice within the impoundments, the agency having conducted several prescribed burns
in the past. The project is located at Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge, T - Brookhaven,
Suffolk County.
