The applicant proposes an additional 2.7 acres of subaqueous mining within the existing Whortlekill Rod & Gun Club sand and gravel mine located off NYS Rte. 376.  The 2.7 acre area is located within the current mine boundary, and was previously mined and approved as reclaimed during prior permit terms.  The expansion is contiguous with the existing lake and will increase the size of the approved lake from 21 to 23.7 acres.  The additional 90,500 cubic yards of material will continue to be processed on site in the same manner as the current operation.  The lake will be used for private recreation after completion of all mining and reclamation of the site.

The applicant proposes a whole lake treatment of Pine Pond and adjacent portions of state-designated Freshwater Wetlands LC-11 and LC 12 with the aquatic herbicide Sonar (active ingredient: fluridone) to control Eurasion watermilfoil.  The site is located on the east side of Gipsy Trail Road (Co. Rte. 41), near the intersection with Beach Drive.  Up to three low-dose applications would be made within the 75 acre lake to maintain the required concentration of 10-15 parts per billion during the 45-day treatmet period.  In addition, copper sulfate will be applied, if needed, to control algae.  All applications will be performed by a NYS certified pesticide applicator, in accordance with NYS registered pesticide label directions.

The applicant proposes to construct a seventeen (17) lot subdivision on the south side of Call Hollow Road approximately 600 feet southeast of the intersection with Willow Grove Road.  The stormwater drainage plan proposes three outfalls with headwalls along the bank of the Minesceongo Creek, Class C(t).  The disturbance to the bank will be approximately 55 feet linear feet for all three headwalls.

    The Department on Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application to re-issue the following EPA minor Private/Commercial/Institutional State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (P/C/I SPDES) permit.  DEC has made a tentative determination to re-issue this permit for a five year period, maintaining current effluent limitations and monitoring and reporting requirements.  This permit involves the surface discharge of up to 14,000 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste to the Cottekill Brook.

    The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application to re-issue the following EPA minor Private/Commercial/Institutional State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (P/C/I SPDES) permit.  DEC has made a tentative determination to re-issue this permit for a five year term maintaining current effluent limitations and monitoring and reporting requirements.  This permit involves the surface discharge of up to17,940 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste to the Roundout Creek tributary.

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application to re-issue the following EPA minor Private/Commercial/Institutional State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (P/C/I SPDES) permit.  DEC has made a tentative determination to re-issue this permit for a five year term maintaining current effluent limitations and monitoring and reporting requirements.  This permit involves the surface discharge of up to 13,650 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste to the Plattekill Creek.

The applicant proposes to dredge approximately 1650 cubic yards of silt and sediment from an existing pond within Freshwater Wetland D-5 (Class II) and its 100-foot adjacent area to maintain the character of the existing aquatic habitat.  The dredging will be performed during a single phase with the dredge spoils temporarily stockpiled within the adjacent area to dewater, then removed from the site.  Additionally, the applicant proposes to replace a wooden pedestrian bridge, and install wetlands plantings along the eastern and southern sides of the pond. The property is approximately 500 feet northeast of the Kitchawan Road and Mill Road intersection.

The applicant proposes to treat 3.5 acres of Old Farm Lake and adjacent portions of State-designated Freshwater Wetland No. O-10 (Class II) with the aquatic herbicide Sonar (active ingredient: fluridone) for the control of invasive and non-native aquatic plants. The site is located adjacent to Old Farm Road in the Old Farm Lake condominium complex in Chappaqua.  In addition, the copper-based algaecide Captain would be applied, if necessary, for the control of summer algae blooms.  All applications would be made by a NYS certified pesticide applicator in accordance with NYS registered pesticide label directions.
