Applicant proposes a discharge
of up to 200 gallons per dayof treated wastewater to an
on-site pond located adjacent to Mud Creek. Project involves the replacement of an
existing garage with a new 66' x 120' garage to house fire trucks and equipment. The
floor of the garage will be equipped with floor drains which will direct wastewater from
trucks to a 750 gal. oil/water separator before it is discharged to an on-site pond and
ultimately to Mud Creek. Garage will not be used for vehicle maintenance and no soap
will be used to wash trucks. Project is located at at the Livingston Pumber Company No.
1, 2855 NYS Route 9, Town of Livingston, Columbia County.
The Department has made
a tentative determination to isue a permit for a State Pollutant
Dishcarge Elimination System Permit under Article 17 of the Environmental
Conservation Law. This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated
under this statute is considered to satisfy regulatory standards for permit issuance, based
on information available to the Department at this time. As a tenative determination, the
Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final
decision on permit issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify
Department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought or
for the overall proposed project.

for inspection and comment at the Region 4 Office.

operate a 5 acre life of mine bluestone mine of which the entire
5 acres will be authorized to be disturbed during the initial permit term. The stone will be
excavated both manually and by mechanical equipment. There will be no drilling, blasting,

site to near its original contour, vegetation, and use as forestry and/or agricultural in

replace an existing subsurface sewage disposal system with a new sanitary septic system
