The applicant proposes a discharge/reuse of a maximum of 1,300 gallons per day of treated effluent as irrigation on a model golf course.  The proposed temporary pilot study will use wastewater treatment plant effluent  that has received advanced filtration and further disinfection by ultraviolet light.   Permit conditions have been developed that would limit the discharge to April - December 2004.  

The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a modification to the existing permit for a State Pollution Discharge Elimination System permit under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation Law.  This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is considered to satisfy regulatory standards for permit issuance, based on information available to the Department at this time.  As a tentative determination, the Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.  As Such, this tentative determination does not signify department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project.

The project is located adjacent to the Riverhead wastewater treatment plant, north of Riverside Ave., immediately west of Indian Island Golf Course in the Town of Riverhead, Suffolk County.

Applicant proposes to construct a one story addition to an existing administration building.  The proposed addition is 135 ft. landward of the freshwater wetland boundary. The property is located on River Rd., Calverton, Town of Riverhead.

Applicant proposes to remove 116' of existing bulkhead and replace with 123' of new bulkhead, 18" further seaward. Additionally applicant proposes to dredge, replace existing steps, install 7' of new bulkhead return and install 16' of new low sill bulkhead below mean high water. Project is located on Wunneweta Pond, Little Bay Road, Cutchogue.
