Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed RIVERSIDE/FLANDERS/NORTHAMPTON REVITALIZATION STUDY will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves adoption of the Riverside/Flanders/Northampton Revitalization Study as an amendment to the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. The project is located RIVERSIDE, FLANDERS, AND NORTHAMPTON, Town of Southampton, Suffolk County, New York.

Positive Declaration And Public Scoping

Nassau County - The Planning Commission of Nassau County, as lead agency has determined that the proposed Woodbury Hills Residential Subdivision may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on April 1, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nassau County Legislative Chamber (5th Floor) at 1 West Street, Mineola, NY. The action involves subdivision approval on approximately 5.21 acres of land located in the Town of Oyster Bay to be subdivided into five residential building lots. The subject property is identified on the Nassau County Land and Tax Map as Section 14-Block E-Lot 832.

Positive Declaration

Suffolk County - The State University of New York at Stony Brook, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Stony Brook Research and Development Park may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the building and operation of a new Stony Brook Research and Development Park, which will include the Center for Excellence in Wireless Internet and Information Technology. The Park will be constructed in two phases on a 314-acre parcel now known as the Gyrodyne Property, formerly known as Flowerfield, which straddles the township boundaries of Smithtown and Brookhaven. The Center for Excellence in Wireless Internet and Information Technology would comprise the first phase of the proposed action, with the construction of a new facility of approximately 100,000 gross square feet and adjacent parking. It is expected that this new facility would be open by 2007. The balance of the construction would be the other buildings of the SBR&DP, consisting of a program of approximately 830,000 gross square feet in a similar pattern of development, to be fully completed in 2017.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft EIS And Public Hearing

Nassau County - The Board of Trustees of the Village of Laurel Hollow, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Special Permit Application. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on April 28, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the West Side School, 1597 Laurel Hollow Road, Syosset, New York 11791. The action involves an application for a Special Use Permit and Site Plan approval by the Village Board of Trustees. The application also involves the submission of a Master Plan as required by the Village Code. The proposed action involves the construction of Phase 1, approximately 40,000 square feet of floor area, including four research buildings, a chiller building, a 202 space parking area and associated roadways. The proposed Master Plan includes an archives building, Great Hall, library, offices, housing, underground parking facilities, sports facility and various expansions of existing buildings. The property is located on the north side of NYS Route 25A (North Hempstead Turnpike) and to the east of Moore’s Hill Road.
