Project Description: The Village of Tupper Lake proposes to install an 8 foot long, 1.5 inch diameter antenna for use by the Tupper Lake Fire Dept., on the existing 84 ft. tall water tank near Park Street. The antenna will be mounted to a 5 ft by 1.5inch diameter galvanized pipe attached to the safety railing on the south (back) side of the water tank. The purpose is to increase the coverage range of mobile and portable phones and pagers in order to dispatch firemen to emergencies and provide needed communication for fighting fires. Related base equipment will be housed in an existing structure at the base of the water tank.

Project Title: Chris Tissot Construction, LLC

Project Description: The applicant seeks after-the-fact approval for a residential construction business, a new commercial use building containing approximately 10, 500 square feet of floor space and an outside storage area used for staging, storage, fabrication and maintenance operation for this business. The business operates year-round. Operations normally occur from Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. However, operations may extend 1 to 2 hours later up to 10 days per year and up to four Saturdays per year. The overall business employs an average of 20 persons with 5 to 6 people working at the project site at any given time. The applicant proposes to plant trees and install fencing to reduce the overall visibility of the project.


Negative Declaration

Clinton County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Big Hill Road Mine, Town of Chazy will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves expansion by 6.6 acres, an existing sand and gravel pit from a currently approved 4.85 acre Life of Mine Area to a 11.45 acre Total Life of Mine Area on a 57.3 acre parcel of land owned by the Town of Chazy. The applicant proposes to utilize a screening operation onsite. No washing of the gravel or other treatment is proposed. Gravel will be trucked from the mine to Big Hill Road via an existing haul road. The reclamation objective is to plant grasses with eventual reversion to natural forest. The mine is located about 450 feet north of Big Hill Road, approximately 1500 feet north of the Big Hill Road - NY Rt. 11 Intersection in the Town of Mooers, Clinton County.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft EIS And Public Hearing

Fulton County - The Adirondack Park Agency, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed admendment of certain lands depicted on the Official Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map and located in the Town of Northampton, Fulton County (MA2003-13). A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on March 23, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Town of Northampton Town Hall, Northville, NY. The action involves reclassification from Rural Use to Moderate Intensity Use of an approximately 230 acre parcel located westerly of NYS Route 30, pursuant to the adirondack Park Agency Act, Section 805 (2)(c)(1).
