Article 15 Title 5 Stream Disturbance |
| Project is Located: | Ossian, Livingston County |
| Project Description: | |
|
With the guidance
of the Steuben County Soil and Water Conservation District, the applicant
proposes to remove debris to maintain a high flow channel, conduct shoal shaping, and develop a
low flow channel for approximately 350' of Canaseraga Creek (C(TS)) along Poags Hole Road.
The purpose of the project is to reduce erosion potential on the currently eroded embankment.
This action will result in disturbance to the banks, vegetation, and the creek bed. The impacts of
construction will be temporary and minimized by the application of standard best management
techniques for the control of erosion, sedimentation, and turbidity impacts to the project area.
The newly constructed stream bank will be seeded, mulched and planted with willow for
stabilization for 250' in length. The impacts are expected to minor in nature.
