Notice of Extension of DEIS Comment Period

Ulster County - The Town of Plattekill Planning Board, as lead agency, accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Magic Canyon Theme Park. A public hearing on the DEIS was opened on February 5, 2004 and closed on February 10, 2004. The Planning Board has extended the time for comment by involved/interested agencies and the public on the DEIS until March 19, 2004. Comments on the document must be received at the Town of Plattekill Town Hall, 1915 Route 44/55, Modena, New York by 4 pm on that date.

The proposed action involves land use and related approvals for a children’s theme park with activities focused on a connection to prehistoric times, related buildings, rides, exhibits, shows, other attractions, shops and food services. The site will utilize private septic and water facilities and provide parking for 530 cars and 14 buses. The project will use 26 acres of a 51 acre parcel on the north side of Route 44/55, approximately 2800 feet from its intersection with Route 208. The site was formerly used as a sand and gravel mine. The property has been reclaimed and will be landscaped and redeveloped for the proposed use.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Final EIS

Westchester County - The White Plains Common Council, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed 221 Main Street Development, White Plains, New York, LC Main, LLC (Applicant). Written comments regarding on the FEIS will be received for consideration by the Common Council until 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2004. Such written comments should be addressed to the White Plains Common Council, care of the City Clerk, City of White Plains, Municipal Building, 255 Main Street, White Plains, New York 10601-2494. The action involves new construction of an approximately 200 room hotel, 200 residential units and approximately 520,000 square feet of office use (for a total of approximately 1.1 million square feet of floor area) with the associated parking, to be constructed in two buildings, in addition to the construction of the Court Street as a new public right-of-way from Main Street to Hamilton Avenue. The project is located in the City of White Plains, Westchester County. The project site in downtown White Plains is generally located at the intersection of Mamaroneck Avenue and Main Street. It is bounded by Main Street (N. Y. State Route 119 Eastbound), Church Street, Hamilton Avenue (N. Y. State Route 119 Westbound) and the proposed extension of Court Street from Main Street northerly to Hamilton Avenue.
