Positive Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town Board of the Town of Islip, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Central Islip PDD: Master Plan Update, Zoning Amendments and Development Proposals may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves a comprehensive plan for the redevelopment of an approximately 800-acre former Central Islip Psychiatric Center located in the Hamlet of Central Islip, with the Town of Islip. The Master Plan Update will reflect: redevelopment and new construction that has occurred with the PDD since the adoption of the Master Plan; previous Master Plan amendments; and, the Town's current planning policies and goals for the PDD. The Proposed Action includes not only the Master Plan Update for the entire 800-acre PDD, but also several site-specific development proposals and/or zone change proposals for various parcels within the PDD. The PDD is generally bounded by Suffolk Avenue to the north, Lowell Avenue to the east, the Southern State Parkway to the south and Wilson Blvd to the west in Central Islip, within the Town of Islip.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft EIS And Public Hearing

Nassau County - The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Flower Hill, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Application for Site Plan Approval and Modification of Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions- proposed St. Francis Hospital Master Facilities Project. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on March 1, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. at the Village Hall of the Incorporated Village of Flower Hill, One Bonnie Heights Road, Nahasset, NY. The action involves St. Francis Hospital applying to the Incorporated Village of Flower Hill for an expansion of its existing facility. The project includes the construction of new clinical, diagnostic and treatment space, patient care areas, improvements to existing support services, enhancements to the physical plant and expansion of parking facilities and site amenities. The new construction would include 154,000 square-feet of new hospital space, 75,000 square-feet of renovations, Central Utility Plant renovations including a 700 square-foot chiller plant expansion, construction of 345 below-ground parking spaces and associated site improvements. Total patient care capacity would increase by 85 beds for a new licensed capacity of 364 beds. Demolition of the St. Joseph, St Rose and Our Lady Pavilions are also proposed. The project is located at 100 Port Washington Blvd., Roslyn, NY.

Suffolk County - The Town Board of the Town Babylon, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed site plan/subdivision/rezone Application No. 2001-39ABE, Gustave J. Wade, n/e/c Main Avenue and Colonial Springs Road, Wheatley Heights, New York. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on March 23, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Board Meeting Room, Babylon Town Hall, 200 East Sunrise Highway, North Lindenhurst, New York. Comments on the Draft EIS are requested and will be accepted by the contact person until April 2, 2004. The action involves the subdivision of an approximately 34 acre parcel to maintain existing landscaping business on ħ1.88 acres and rezone portions of ħ32.277 acres of the site to Senior Citizen Multiple Residence (SCMR) and Multiple Residence (MR) and construct 264 SCMR units, 128 MR units, 21 single family units, 12,750 square foot community center, parking and other site improvements. The project is located on the northeast corner of Main Avenue and Colonial Springs Road, Wheatley Heights, Town of Babylon, County of Suffolk, New York.

Suffolk County - The Planning Board of the Town of Islip, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed First Floor Building Addition to Accommodate the Relocation of the Existing Emergency Room Facility at the Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on February 25, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town of Islip, Town Hall, 655 Main Street, Islip, NY. The action involves construction of a 10,700 square-foot, one story addition to the southeast portion of the hospital building, to accommodate the relocation of the emergency room facility thereto. The proposed action also consists of the construction of a 130 square-foot, one story vestibule adjacent to the corridor between the proposed relocated emergency room and the M.R.I. Center and construction of a 206 square-foot one story addition adjacent to the corridor between the proposed relocated emergency room facility and the remainder of the hospital building.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Final EIS

Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed adoption of a local law amending Chapter 330-248. The action involves the proposed adoption of a local law amending Chapter 330-248 changing the zoning classification of the property from its existing CR-200 residential zoning district to a Mixed Use Planned Development District (MUPDD) upon its own motion to allow fifty (50) owner-occupied residential units and establishment of a public school facility covering a 17.77 acre area consisting of two tax parcels located on the east side of Majors Path, approximately 1,869 feet north of Edge of Woods Road in North Sea, Town of Southampton, Suffolk County, New York (SCTM No. 0900-98-01-5.1 and 0900-98-01-6).

Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Planned Development District (PDD) for the Kuchtuk Family Property. The action involves an approximately 17.77 acre site consisting of two tax lots located on the east side of Majors Path and north of Edge of the Woods Road in North Sea. Lot 5.1 contains 8.80 acres and is zoned CR-200, and Lot 6 contains 8.97 acres and is zoned CR-200. The site currently consists of a vacant auto salvage yard. The proposed zone change from its current CR200 to the future Mixed Use Planned Development District includes the potential for up to 66 multi-family dwelling units, plus reserving 50 percent of the site for a future elementary school, plus accessory amenities. The street addresses of these lots are 1020 and 1000 Majors Path, respectively. The project is located in the Town of Southampton.
