New York City County - The New York City Department of Environmental Protection will hold a meeting on Wednesday, February 11, 1004 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Town Hall of Mount Pleasant, Court Room One, Town Hall Plaza, Valhalla, New York. The purpose of the meeting is to take comments from the public on the Draft Scope of Work for the Environmental Impact Statement that is being prepared for the proposed Catskill/Delaware Ultraviolet Light Disinfection Facility (UV Facility). The New York City Department of Environmental Protection proposes to design, construct, and place into operation an Ultraviolet Light (UV) Disinfection Facility ("the UV Facility") for the Catskill/Delaware Water Supply System capable of disinfecting a maximum flow of 2,020 million gallons per day (mgd), with an average flow of 1,310 mgd. The project is being proposed to meet the water supply needs of the City of New York and lower Westchester County and to comply with state and federal drinking water standards. The public comment period will remain open until February 23, 2004 and a Final Scope of Work will be issued by March 12, 2004.
