This Department has received
a request to issue a permit and has drafted an Article 19
(Air Pollution Control) of the Environmental Conservation Law, an Air State Facility
Permit, at the facility located at Barrett Paving Pamelia Quarry, State Route 37, Pamelia,
NY 13600.
The Department has made
a tentative determination to approve the application of the
Barrett Paving Pamelia Quarry facility, a crushed stone and asphalt production facility.
The State Facility Permit allows the operation of Emission units 1-PLANT, 2-STONE,
and 3-SCREE, which includes asphalt production including waste oil as a fuel, crushing
and screening of stone including temporary portable operations, diesel generator
operation, and exempt and trivial sources. The facility has capped out of Title V, and
NOx RACT. Permitting requirements by tracking and restricting its facility emissions of
PM-10, NOx, and CO below 95 tons per year.
The draft permit with conditions
is available for review in the Region 6 NYSDEC office
in Watertown, New York.

application to re-issue the following EPA minor Private/Commercial/Institutional
State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (P/C/I SPDES)permit. DEC has
made a tentative determination to re-issue this permit for a five-year period,
maintaining the current effluent limitations and monitoring and reporting
requirements. This permit involves the surface discharge of 3,000 gallons per
day of treated sanitary waste to the Sauquoit Creek.

Burrows Trucking and Excavating
proposes to expand the life of mine boundary of their
sand and gravel pit from 15.0 acres to 35.3 acres. The area to be affected during the 5-year permit
term will increase from 9.0 acres to 15.0 acres. The operation will include
on-site minerals processing with portable equipment. The expansion will not result in a
significant increase in noise, visual or traffic impacts. The sand and gravel pit is within a
47.9 acre parcel owned by the applicant and located approximately 200 feet south of
Route 69 and 3700 feet west of the intersection of Rts. 69 and 291 in the Town of
Whitestown.
