The applicant proposes a new discharge for the seasonal  discharge of 720,000 gallons per day of treated Non Contact Cooling Water into groundwater through two leaching pools . The facility is located at 585 Stewart Ave. in Garden City, Town of Hempstead, Nassau County. The proposed discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source  aquifer. The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a permit for a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation law.  This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is considered to satisfy regulator standards for permit issuance based on information available to the Department at this time.  As a tentative determination,  the Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.  As such, this tentative determination does not signify Department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project.  Refer to this application by application number listed above and SPDES number NY0266949.  A copy of the application and draft permit are available at the Region 1 Stony Brook Office.

Permit:  Article 17, Titles 7 & 8: Industrial SPDES

The applicant proposes to construct a two-story church with a gymnasium, administrative offices, classrooms, parking for approximately 175 vehicles, and sidewalks within the 100 ft. adjacent area of freshwater wetland SC-10.  Drywells will be installed to contain runoff.  Drainage containment is provided for a 2.5" rainfall.  The property is located at Fairway Drive, Port Washington, Town of North Hempstead, County of Nassau, NCTM # 6-53-p/o1060.

The applicant proposes to subdivide a vacant 19 acre parcel into 19 lots for single family dwellings.  Three of the lots front Long Island Sound and are within jurisdiction of Article 25.  Lot 9 will be 55,489 square feet, Lot 10 will be be 46,181 square feet and Lot 11 will be 55,290 square feet.   The property is located north of the north end of Cordwood Path, Shoreham, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, current SCTM# 0200-37-4-37.   

Applicant proposes to install one well for irrigation of seven athletic fields and front lawn of building.  The well will be approximately 273 feet deep and 8" in diameter.  The well is designed for a capacity of 100 gallons per minute.  The property is located 375 Wolf Hill Road, Dix Hills, Huntington NY.
