Location: NYS Route 86 in the Towns of Brighton and Harrietstown

Project Description The purpose of the project is to reconstruct New York State Route 86. The reconstruction includes work on the highway drainage system, shoulder widening of three realignment intersection, improvements to the roadbed, repaving the entire section of highway, installation of guiderail and signs and removal of two buildings encroaching onto the highway right-of-way. The project is located on Route 86 in southern Franklin County in the Towns of Brighton and Harrietstown. It begins on Route 86 approximately 1,148 feet west of the intersection of Route 86 and the Rainbow Lake Road (Co. Route 30) in the Town of Brighton. It proceeds easterly through the Hamlet of Gabriels and ends approximately 656 feet west of the intersection of Routes 86 and 186 in the Town of Harrietstown. The project site involves a “scenic vista” designated in the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan.
