Proposed improvements to
the Town of Keene Water District #1, including a new
groundwater production well (taking up to 150,000 gallons per day), water control
building, storage tank, and 15,600 feet of new or replacement water main. The existing
surface water source will be abandoned. Also proposed are two water main crossings of
the East Branch Ausable River, and one crossing of Cascade Brook and Jackson Brook
(class AA(T)). The project is located in the designated “recreational river”corridor of the
East Branch Ausable, along NYS Routes 9N, 73, and Church Street, Hamlet of Keene.
