Article 23 Title 27 Mined Land Reclamation |
| Project is Located: | Middleburgh, Schoharie County |
| Project Description: | |
|
The applicant proposes to
renew and expand an existing permitted mine site. The
expansion consists of increasing the Life-of-Mine from 27 acres to 77 acres. This
modification was Publicly noticed on 11/07/2001. That notice erroneously stated the Life-of- Mine Boundary
as being expanded to 52 acres. Ongoing mining and processing
activities include blasting, crushing, washing, screening of limestone and the
manufacturing of asphalt. The primary purpose of this modification is to include all
processing locations and areas for the storage of topsoil and overburden, to be used
during reclamation, within the Life of Mine Boundary. Total acreage authorized for
excavation will increase by approximately 3.5 acres. The project is located
approximately one half mile east of State Route 30, approximately 2.4 miles south of the
village of Schoharie.
