The project will involve
the construction of recreational features along the shoreline,
excavation of channels, construction of wetland/upland islands, placement of fish and
wetland planting exclosures around the lake and modifying the lake level to a year round
pool elevation. The project also involves adding the ability to make low flow releases for
river system habitat benefits downstream of the dam. This project is fully described in
the project report dated August 2001, which is available for review at the Department's
offices. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District prepared an
Environmental Assessment in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act
(NEPA) of 1969. It was determined that no significant adverse impacts were anticipated.
The Department has made a tentative determination to approve the project. A draft
permit is available for review.

Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) pathological waste incinerator. This modification
proposes the installation and operation of an autoclave to treat non-pathological RMW
generated by the Chronic Wasting Disease Laboratory. The Department has made a
tentative determination to approve the proposed project and a draft permit is available for
review.
