The applicant proposes to
remove 80 linear feet of deteriorated bulkhead including 84
linear feet around existing boat ramp and finger floats. Excavate 935 cubic yards of
material from a 55' x 80' area consisting of approximately 3650 square feet of upland area
and 760 square feet of shoals/mud flats to 4 ft. below mean low water. Resultant material
will be trucked off site. Construct 80 linear feet of new bulkhead and a 20 ft. south return
55 ft. landward of the existing bulkhead location and place 100 cubic yards of gravel as
backfill and around perimeter of parking area. Remove and replace a 30 ft. wavebreak
and install an 8' x 150' main float with an 8' x 70' "T" float at the seaward end, 12 finger
floats and 20 pilings. Excavate 20 cubic yards of existing concrete and truck off site. The
property is located at 3000 Whaleneck Drive, Merrick, Town of Hempstead, County of
Nassau on Merrick Creek.
